Nollau Leadership Institute
A servant leader takes seriously the commandments to love God and love neighbor. It is one who strives to see the world as God intended and joins in service to others to bring about that vision – a vision of hope, justice, love, joy, and peace for all.
The Rev. Monica Wedlock Kilpatrick
Associate Vice President of Organizational Development
National Benevolent Association of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
The culmination of the Nollau Leadership Institute is the capstone project. Participants are asked to provide an expression of leadership that mostly deeply resonates with them. It may come in the form of a photograph, a piece of art, a poem, scripture passage, quote, sculpture, song lyrics, etc. Through poster presentations at the CHHSM Annual Gathering, they will engage in conversations about their chosen piece and what leadership means to those they interact with.
The purpose of the capstone is to offer a unique way for the participants to articulate what they have learned and reflected on throughout the program. It also uplifts the distinct wisdom they have to offer the wider community in understanding and embodying leadership.
