Hoyleton Celebrates Opening of an Inclusive Playground and a Medication Management Clinic

Hoyleton Youth & Family Services (HYFS) in Fairview Heights, Ill., held two ribbon-cutting ceremonies on its campus Easter Week 2026: one to celebrate the opening of its new “All-Abilities Playground”—an inclusive play space for children of every ability—and then, the next day, the opening of its new Medication Management Clinic.
All-Abilities Playground Provides Something for Everyone
The new playground was made possible through a $60,000 grant in October 2025 from the Maschhoffs Impact. The Maschhoffs Impact is the charitable arm of The Maschhoffs, one of the largest family-owned pork production networks in North America. With a mission to strengthen rural communities, the foundation supports initiatives in education, health, and family well-being. Representatives from The Maschhoffs attended the ribbon cutting April 6, 2026.

“Today, we were proud to celebrate with a ribbon cutting alongside The Maschhoffs team,” said Chris Cox, president and CEO of Hoyleton, “marking the official opening of a space where our residents can play, connect, and just be kids— where they can enjoy being a child while feeling accepted, included, and celebrated. This playground is more than just equipment. It’s a place for laughter, growth, and healing.”
The new playground provides a safe, welcoming environment where children — regardless of physical or developmental challenges — can play, explore, and thrive together. While phase 1 is now complete, phase 2 of the space is currently in the planning stages.
“This project perfectly embodies our mission to make lasting contributions in the communities we call home,” said Danielle Solis, chair of The Maschhoffs Impact. “We’re proud to partner with Hoyleton Youth & Family Services in creating a space that will bring joy and inclusion for generations to come.”
Medication Management Clinic Expands Access to Critical Behavioral Health Services

The clinic’s ribbon-cutting ceremony was held April 7, 2026, and included a blessing ceremony led by the Rev. Tarrah Vaupel, pastor of the UCC Church Biddleborn/Darmstadt in Lensburg, Ill.
“This new beginning honors an individual’s dignity and strengthens their journey toward wholeness. Healing is already unfolding here, in courage, in care, in showing up,” said Vaupel during her blessing. “This space and most importantly, the people who serve within it, provide a sanctuary of healing, a threshold of new beginnings and a steady reminder that no one walks this journey alone. We bless this space with open hearts, this work, and all who will be touched by it.”
Following the ceremony, attendees were able to tour the facility, meet clinic staff, and learn more about the clinic’s available services.

Ashley Amburn, a member of the clinic team, emphasized the impact the new space will have on those seeking care. “This clinic allows us to meet clients where they are and provide more coordinated, compassionate support,” Amburn said. “Having these services in one place makes it easier for individuals and families to access the care they need and stay engaged in their treatment.”
The new clinic is part of Hoyleton’s ongoing effort to strengthen its continuum of care. The expansion includes the addition of telepsychiatry services and an onsite pharmacy operated by Bandy’s Pharmacy. The enhancements are designed to improve accessibility and streamline care for clients while supporting overall wellness and long-term outcomes.
“This new clinic represents our commitment to treating the whole person,” said Hoyleton President and CEO Chris Cox. “By integrating medication management, telepsychiatry and pharmacy services into one location, we are able to remove barriers to care and better support the physical, emotional and mental well-being of those we serve.”
