Webinar to Explore Pharmacy Services for CHHSM Members
The next free webinar in a CHHSM series geared to assist its member agencies takes place Tuesday, May 24, at 2 p.m. ET. The one-hour webinar will focus on pharmacy services and best practices, and is sponsored by Care Purchasing Services (CPS), the group purchasing agent behind the CHHSM Store.
Two major topic areas will be addressed during the webinar: medication management technology and its impact on staff retention; and elevating the pharmacy experience in a resource-constrained healthcare environment.
Medication management technology will be presented by Dennis Jakubowicz and Sheri Bennett of Partners Pharmacy, based in Springfield Township, N.J. Partners provides full service and long-term medication management services for older adult communities. It will describe Advanced Pharmacy Solutions, identify benefits to the nursing staff, discuss the time savings through the use of management technology, and discuss how technology can be used as a recruitment and staff retention tool.
The elevating the pharmacy experience presentation will be run by Lisa Bowen and Dale Padgett of PharMerica, long-term medication solutions provider based in Louisville, Ky. The two will discuss the challenges market dynamics bring to older adult care providers and the impact that has on providing quality care. The presentation will also include an overview of the services available to CHHSM members through CPS and the CHHSM Store.
Key in the presentation will be discussing the challenges regarding resources and staffing in the ongoing pandemic environment, said Natalia Hernandez, CPS client representative for the CHHSM Store. “The conversation with these well-known pharmacy vendors can provide a guide on how to utilize current technology to recruit staff members, and how to maximize the current state and federal programs to support staffing gaps,” Hernandez said. “These partners are an extension of our team and can provide solutions geared towards each member of CHHSM. I hope members can join the conversation to find resources, valuable relationships, and, ultimately, a positive outcome in this time of uncertainty.”
