United Church Homes and Services Aims to ‘Stock the Shelves’ at Abernethy Laurels
United Church Homes and Services (UCHS) recently held a campaign to Stock the Shelves of the new Abernethy Laurels Health and Rehabilitation Center.
“An outpouring of generous financial and in-kind support made the campaign a success,” shared Nancy Beard, President of UCHS Foundation. “The doors will open on phase one of the new Health and Rehabilitation Center in September. The first phase will have six households with 96 beds. More than 50 percent of those served by the Abernethy Laurels Health and Rehabilitation Center are seniors with limited financial resources.”
Donations for the Stock the Shelves Campaign included cash donations, kitchen items, arts and crafts supplies, games and exercise supplies.
United Church Homes & Services (UCHS), a not-for-profit corporation located in Newton, NC, operates three continuing care retirement communities, a PACE (Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), and seven affordable senior housing communities across North Carolina and Virginia.
