Roller Retires from United Church Outreach Ministry (UCOM)

Bruce brings Christmas cheer to UCOM clients with the help of Santa Claus.

The Rev. Dr. Bruce Roller officially retired from his position as executive director of United Church Outreach Ministry (UCOM) April. 1. Roller has served UCOM with dedication and distinction for 21 years and leaves behind a legacy of leadership, compassion, and impact.

During his tenure, Roller spearheaded numerous initiatives that propelled UCOM forward in its mission to serve our neighbors. Under his guidance, UCOM has made tremendous strides as an organization, including instituting a neighbor choice food pantry system, moving into a new building, expanding services to focus on neighbor health, and growing the organization’s staff to better meet the needs of our neighbors.

“This has been the best job of my life. It has been an honor to lead such a talented team of dedicated individuals,” Roller said. “I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together, and I am confident that UCOM will continue to thrive.”

The UCOM board of directors has initiated a search process to identify Roller’s successor. During the transition period, Erik Keener, formerly associate executive director, has assumed the role of interim executive director to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of operations.

Roller’s retirement marks the end of an era for UCOM, but his impact will be felt for years to come.
