Phoebe Ministries to honor Ronald L. Rider and Celebrate Volunteers at March Benefit

UCC-related Phoebe Ministries will honor Ronald L. Rider with the Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Award for Exemplary Service to the Aging at their annual Institute on Aging Benefit on Thursday, March 21, in University Center at DeSales University, Center Valley, Pa. The cocktail attire event beginning at 6:00 p.m. will feature dinner, drinks, and intergenerational musical entertainment.

The Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Award for Exemplary Service is presented annually to an individual whose leadership, service, and commitment advance the aging services field. Recipients of the award are celebrated for fostering innovative thinking, collaboration, and collective learning. For nearly 30 years, Rider has served Phoebe Ministries collectively as a member of the Governing Board and the Boards of the Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Phoebe Berks Village, and the Berks County Strategic Advisory Council.

In addition to the Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Award, Exemplary Volunteer Awards will be presented to Stan Harwick of Macungie, Pa.; Robert Crouse of Quakertown, Pa.; Stephanie C. Deppe of Wyncote, Pa.; and Junior Award recipient Breydan Cone of Wernersville, Pa. The awards are presented to individuals or groups who show long-term commitment and support of Phoebe and our residents by giving their time to others.

The Rev. Dr. Grant Harrity Scholarship will also be awarded to two Phoebe Allentown employees during the dinner. This benefits direct care employees of Phoebe Allentown currently enrolled in a career enhancement program.

All proceeds from the Phoebe Institute on Aging Benefit support educational opportunities for health care workers and the community on topics of concern to older adults and their caregivers.

Phoebe is able to provide educational conferences at little or no cost to participants thanks to the generosity of sponsors and attendees of the benefit.

Tickets are $125 per person, $200 per couple and $1,000 for a table of eight. Registration is requested by February 22, 2019. Sponsorships are available and start at $250. For more information or to learn about additional sponsorship opportunities, please call 610-794-5132, email philanthropy@phoebe.org, or visit www.phoebe.org/benefit.
