Phoebe Allentown Hosts Successful Health & Wellness Fair

Phoebe Allentown (Pa.) hosted a four-hour Health & Wellness Fair at the end of May 2025 featuring insightful vendors, health screenings, food, and fun.

Free for all employees and residents, the fair saw representatives from various health-related organizations offering information about their services to attendees. Among those in attendance were Sun Life Dental, Capital Blue Cross, BSI Corporate Benefits, Allentown Health Bureau, Weight Watchers, ConnectCare3, Lehigh Valley Health Network, Miller-Keystone Blood Center, and Sights for Hope.

As part of the fair’s goals of promoting responsible health habits, the event offered free blood pressure checks, glucose checks, bone density screenings, and cholesterol screenings courtesy of St Luke’s, HNL Lab Medicine, and Phoebe Allentown staff.

One of the fair’s highlights came from fluffy companions trotting around Moyer Hall courtesy of Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs. Licensed therapy dogs of various shapes and sizes got their “fair” share of pets from attendees. Everyone who interacted with them walked away with bright smiles.

Sara Estrada, a Phoebe social services worker, offered chair massages during the event, a service she provides around the Phoebe Allentown campus weekly. Donna Haney, a cartoon portrait artist, drew boardwalk-style portraits of those who sat in her chair. In typical cartoon portrait fashion, Haney’s pieces captured that uncanny yet iconic art style.

Multi-instrumentalist Lorenzo Branca stopped by to lead a captivating musical performance, deftly bouncing between bongos, acoustic guitar, and flute. Danny Grae closed the event by leading a group of residents through seated Zumba. This accessible form of rhythmic exercise got residents moving to the beat as Grae cheered them on with humor and excitement.

The educational and entertaining day helped residents and staff alike health in mind every day.
