Peterkin Takes Helm at Franklinton Center at Bricks

Timothy Peterkin has been named the new executive director of Franklinton Center at Bricks in Whitakers, N.C.

Peterkin’s distinguished career reflects a deep commitment to leadership, service, and community advocacy. A graduate of North Carolina Central University and North Carolina University School of Law, he brings a wealth of experience from the nonprofit, legal and academic sectors. Prior to his current role, he served as director of a nonprofit agency, a law professor, and appointee to several boards.

Peterkin has demonstrated visionary leadership and a passion for empowering communities through meaningful collaboration and advocacy. Franklinton Center will welcome him Aug. 1, 2026, is a special celebration honoring 155 years of the center’s legacy and light.
