Isaiah 58 Ministries Celebrates Another Year of Beloved Community

The gathering celebrated the achievements of the past and a hopeful look to the future..

October 14, 2025, was a beautiful fall evening, and one enjoyed by many, as friends and supporters of Isaiah 58 Ministries in St. Louis gathered for its Annual Celebration. The occasion marked another incredible year of living out Isaiah 58 Ministries’ mission to build beloved community in South St. Louis city. Hosted at the unique and inviting Power Creative event space in Tower Grove South in St. Louis, the night was filled with laughter, gratitude, and hope for the year ahead.

Guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres prepared by Hendri’s Catering, along with drinks served by Isaiah 58 Ministries’ very own Dennis James and Emily Bischoff. Everyone spent the evening connecting with fellow volunteers, donors, and neighbors who make Isaiah 58 Ministries’ work possible.

The evening’s program was both fun and informative. Program Director the Rev. Meredith Jackson led the crowd in lively rounds of Pantry Bingo and Isaiah 58 Ministries Trivia, testing everyone’s knowledge about the ministry’s impact in the community. Attendees were surprised to learn just how much happens behind the scenes—like the 2,285 individuals served in September, the 12 freezers keeping food fresh for families, and the many retired nurses and volunteers who faithfully give their time and expertise each week.

Executive Director the Rev. Brenda Booth expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone for their unwavering support and stewardship. She reminded guests that every dollar donated is carefully managed to meet the needs of the ministries’ neighbors. Through a combination of “rescued” food from nine partner grocery stores, produce donated by the Eden Gleaners (LINK TO CHHSM story), and donations from churches and community partners, Isaiah 58 Ministries is able to serve guests at an average cost of just $2.02 per pantry visit—enough to help feed a family of four for several days.

As the evening drew to a close, the room was filled with joy and gratitude—a tangible reminder that when people come together with compassion and purpose, extraordinary things happen. This year’s Annual Celebration was a wonderful evening of good food, great company, and deepening commitment to a mission that continues to grow stronger each year.
