EveryAge’s Carolina SeniorCare Celebrates New Bern Grand Opening in Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Carolina SeniorCare—New Bern (N.C.), part of EveryAge based in Newton, N.C.,  held a ribbon cutting ceremony June 18, 2025, to celebrate its newly completed center. 

The event featured remarks Justine Cabrera, EveryAge center administrator; Kevin Roberts, New Bern Chamber president & CEO; Lee Syria, EveryAge president & CEO; Jeffrey T. Odham, Mayor of New Bern; Sabrena Lea, Medicaid deputy director; and Shakinna Rodgers, MSW, EveryAge. In addition to the ribbon cutting and remarks, the day included guided tours of the center.

“This ribbon cutting marks more than the opening of a building—it’s the beginning of a new chapter for aging adults in eastern North Carolina,” said Thomas Chang, senior director of home and community-based services for EveryAge. “We are proud to bring this comprehensive care model to New Bern and the surrounding area.”

The Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, also known as PACE, is a provider-based health plan designed to help older adults receive high-quality, coordinated care while continuing to live safely in their homes. As the third PACE program offered by EveryAge, Carolina SeniorCare – New Bern brings a much-needed healthcare option to older adults in North Carolina’s Craven, Pamlico, and Jones counties, along with designated areas of Carteret, Beaufort, Lenoir, and Onslow counties.

The new center offers a wide range of services, including:

  • Primary and specialty medical care
  • Vision and dental services
  • Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
  • Prescription medications and medical equipment
  • Social, recreational, and wellness programs
  • Nutritional counseling and meal services
  • Transportation
  • Home and personal care services

Carolina SeniorCare—New Bern joins sister locations in Lexington and Wilmington, N.C., operating under EveryAge, a not-for-profit senior living organization based in Newton, N.C. EveryAge currently serves more than 3,100 older adults across 16 locations in North Carolina and Virginia through its senior living communities and PACE programs.
