During the last week in September, Back Bay Mission, a CHHSM member in Biloxi, Miss., welcomed a special guest: the Rev. John Dorhauer, general minister and president of the United Church of Christ.

During his visit, Dorhauer held a lengthy meeting with staff — only two of whom are UCC members. He noted the commitment of the UCC and the wider church to the kinds of ministries Back Bay Mission undertakes daily. He viewed a new video featuring Back Bay staff members and programs, including its client-oriented food pantry, Micah Day Center, Bridges Out of Poverty, Health and Wellness efforts, and helping the homeless persons and others in need of assistance.

Dorhauer also met with the Board of Directors, many of whom are local, non-UCC people, to express thanks to all and to note how well-known the ministry of Back Bay Mission is across the country.

Back Bay Mission is grateful to be a part of CHHSM and to be lifted up as a mission emphasis in the UCC as we Strengthen Neighborhoods, Seek Justice, and Transform Lives!
