CHHSM’s Paxton to Return to Philanthropy Calling

The UCC Council for Health and Human Service Ministries has announced that Mary Paxton, associate for engagement and executive administration, will resign effective this Friday, Oct. 12.

Paxton will return to her calling as a development professional as the director of development for New Directions, a nonprofit outpatient and residential treatment facility for adolescents. She begins her new post Oct. 15.

“Mary’s tenure with CHHSM — as a board member and then as associate for engagement and executive administration — has been a rich experience for all of us because of her commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization,” said Michael J. Readinger, president and CEO. “The icing on the cake is that she is a kind, thoughtful, and trusted friend.”

Paxton said the decision to leave CHHSM was not easy because of her meaningful work with so many CHHSM member colleagues.

“This was a difficult decision for me,” said Paxton, “but I’m appreciative all of that I experienced as a board member and staff member of CHHSM.”

CHHSM will now take time to evaluate the best staffing model for moving forward, as it now will be searching for more than one candidate. The Rev. Danielle Bartz returned to parish ministry earlier this summer.

“We wish Mary all the best as she returns to the world of philanthropy in her new decision as director of development at New Directions,” Readinger said. “The entire CHHSM staff wishes her all the best in her new venture.”
