Carolina SeniorCare Hires New Executive Director
Carolina SeniorCare (CSC) in Lexington, N.C., and its parent organization, EveryAge — based in Newton, N.C. — are proud to announce the hiring of Ashley Young, MSPH, as CSC’s new executive director.
Carolina SeniorCare is a Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, or PACE organization. This provider-based health plan supports participants in gaining access to services they need without moving from their home. PACE programs provide comprehensive medical, preventative, and social services.
Thomas Chang, the organization’s previous director, has assumed greater responsibility for managing the growth and oversight of EveryAge’s two existing PACE programs (Carolina SeniorCare in Lexington and Elderhaus in Wilmington), along with the development of a third PACE program (Carolina SeniorCare-East) in New Bern, N.C.
As the new executive director, Young will oversee operations and administration of Carolina SeniorCare, as well as ensure its growth and maintain its state and federal relationships. She will manage all aspects of its primary care clinic, provider network, 24-hour care delivery system, therapeutic services, day health center, home care, transportation, and quality assurance activities.
Young, a Pfafftown, N.C., resident, earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from UNC-Charlotte, as well as her master’s degree in public health. She brings to the organization a decade of operational experience involving innovative technology solutions, workforce management, change management, and quality patient-centered care. During her career, Young has worked with dermatology practices, orthopedic and physical therapy practices, and an infectious disease practice. She also holds certificates in mental health first aid and project management.
“Ashley brings a wealth of healthcare knowledge and experience to her new role, plus a familiarity with the resources, providers, and community partners in the Triad region,” said Chang, now senior director of home and community-based services for EveryAge. “We’re delighted to put her skills to work for the benefit of older adults in the area and to expand their access to supportive care so they can remain in their own homes with their families. We know that her leadership will positively impact the care we provide to seniors in Davidson, Davie, Iredell, and Rowan counties.”
