The organization recently announced two new additions to its staff.

Orion Expands Social Enterprise Initiative »

The brightly colored little picnic tables, some handpainted with polka dots and cartoon characters, may look like children’s furniture. But they’re also the tangible fruits of a social-enterprise effort developed by Orion Family Services, with the help of CHHSM’s consulting services. Based in Madison, Wis., Orion serves abused and neglected children and their families throughout the state.

Catherine (Kay) Price served as executive director of CHHSM ministry United Church of Christ Homes in Pennsylvania from 1989 to 2003. She chaired the board of AAHSA, now Leading Age, from 1990 to 1992 and in that role helped launch the International Association of Homes and Services for Aging (IAHSA), whose board she chaired from 1994 to 1997. She led the CHHSM Board of Directors from March 1998 to March 2000.

Tara Bethell laughingly describes herself as a “whippersnapper.” Now 32, she has served since 2007 as vice president of human resources and risk management at Beatitudes Campus, a CHHSM member ministry. Bethell arrived at Beatitudes, a senior living community in Phoenix, in 2005 after working as a claims adjuster for an auto insurance company.
