For skilled nursing communities everywhere, it’s the proverbial straw threatening to break the camel’s back. An unprecedented 11.1 percent cut in Medicare reimbursement rates, in effect as of Oct. 1, will cost providers an estimated $3.87 billion in 2012 alone.
