Culbertson Chosen as CHHSM Scholar »

Megan Culbertson of Chicago has been recognized as the 2012 CHHSM Scholar. Culbertson is currently working toward a Master of Divinity at Chicago Theological Seminary and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration. She graduated magna cum laude in 2011 from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, with a degree in religion and sociology.

The Rev. Danielle Bartz Joins CHHSM as Program Associate »

CHHSM welcomes the Rev. Danielle Bartz to its team. Bartz holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of Iowa and a Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis. She was ordained in the United Church of Christ in March 2012. Prior to joining the CHHSM staff, Bartz served as lead chaplain at Maine General Medical Center in Waterville, Maine.

Darlene Sowell never wondered what she wanted to do when she grew up. She always knew: to help others. “My parents had a strong commitment to community service and giving back,” Sowell says. “So I picked that up somewhere along the way. As a young adult, it became even more important for me to give back as a professional, especially with African-American youth.”
