Leadership Development

Many organizations provide educational and consultative services for not-for-profit organizations, but few ground their work in CHHSM ministries' fundamental understanding of service to others as a response to God's call. CHHSM's team of organizational and leadership development professionals offers a range of expertise to your ministry that is rooted in our common identity as ministries of the church of Jesus Christ.

Under the coordination of Director of Consulting Services Daniel Pryfogle the CHHSM team provides programs for individual organizational leaders, CEOs and governing boards and custom-designed consultation to address specific organizational objectives. The goal in all of this work is to identify, amplify and leverage the spiritual and organizational strength of CHHSM ministries through several objectives:

• Build strong organizational cultures rooted in a sense of vocation
• Effectively integrate faith values and business strategy
• Establish practices that reinforce core identity and mission
• Communicate the ministry's distinctive quality and character

CHHSM has organized its educational and consultative services into three distinct program offereings:

Walking the Talk, presents an opportunity for ministries to custom design a consulting engagement that pursues one or more of the objectives listed above for the whole organization or a discrete component of its work. "Walking the Talk" is designed to meet the organization at a point of perceived need and address that need by uncovering and leveraging the resources already resident in the ministry.

The Vocation of the Trustee is a governance education program specifically oriented toward governing boards of faith-based organizations. Developed by the Center for Faith Based Leadership, of which CHHSM is a founding member, The Vocation of the Trustee (VOT), is a facilitated, interactive teaching tool that helps governing Boards understand the full scope of their responsibilities and function effectively.

The Diakonal Minister Credential is awarded by CHHSM to senior executives and managers of CHHSM Ministries who complete the Faith-Based Leadership Institute (FBLI), a one-year course of study offered through the Center for Faith-Based Leadership. More than 100 CHHSM leaders have earned the Diakonal Minister Credential.
