President Obama plans to appoint Joshua DuBois, a Pentecostal pastor and political strategist, to over see a new Council for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. According to the New York Times, "the office will not merely oversee the distribution of grants to religious and community groups, but will also look for other ways to involve those groups in working on pressing social problems." International Parish Nurse Resource Center has introduced a new wellness program, based on the Exodus story, for children and adults of all ages and health conditions. The eight-week program encourages participants to choose three lifestyle areas they would like to improve, such as exercise, diet, sleep, prayer, time with friends, or drinking water. Gift Annuity Rates Reduced Effective February 1

The Board of Directors of the American Council on Gift Annuities (ACGA) has reduced the expected return assumption from 5.75% to 5.25%. A new rate schedule has been developed reflecting this change, which lowers recommended rates by .4% to .7%. Read the announcement and rate schedule here.
