Council for Health and Human Service Ministries

From the President

Photo of Bryan Sickbert After more than two years of planning, research and collaboration, I am pleased to announce the launch of CHHSM Health!

Since 2005, CHHSM's Business Services Committee and Vice President for Business Services. Mike Readinger, have talked with our members, conducted research, and worked closely with the Pension Boards-UCC to learn more about what health insurance products CHHSM members sought and how a UCC collaboration might respond. Throughout our work, the Pension Boards has been an excellent partner. I am particularly grateful for their expertise and flexibility in creating health benefit products that can respond the full diversity of the CHHSM membership.

Now, thanks to the leadership of CHHSM-member Retirement Housing Foundation, long a pioneer among the UCC's healing and service ministries, CHHSM Health is a reality. On October 1, RHF employees will begin receiving health benefits through CHHSM Health. RHF's investment means that CHHSM Health now has enough covered lives to provide meaningful benefit savings to all CHHSM ministries with custom designed financing and benefit plans that meet your particular requirements. Within the coming months, we will be providing additional information on how CHHSM Health might fit with your employee benefits program.

We know that many of you are interested in exploring how CHHSM Health might help realize cost savings for your ministry, and we look forward to talking with you about this new program. If you would like to know more about CHHSM Health, please call or email Mike Readinger at 866-822-8224 ext. 2258 or email him at readingm@chhsm.org.

As Pension Boards-UCC President Mike Downs commented, "When the church's ministries save money in health care costs, they have more resources to do God's work in the world." Here at CHHSM, we are pleased to provide CHHSM Health and other services that help your ministries advance the healing and service ministry of Jesus Christ.

Faithfully,
Bryan W. Sickbert
President/CEO
