From the President: Annual Meeting 2006

Photo of Bryan Sickbert It's been a busy month since we returned from CHHSM's 2006 Annual Meeting. Whether you want to relive our time together in Albuquerque or catch up on what you missed, chhsm.org provides the highlights of the meeting:

  • The launch of CHHSM Store, a new group purchasing consortium (GPO) that will help CHHSM members control the costs of business supplies, equipment and services. Visit the new CHHSM Store web pages to learn more and download an enrollment packet.
  • CHHSM Health, our project to meet the short- and long-term health care needs of CHHSM members, including solutions for individual ministries and the possible creation of a health insurance cooperative.
  • The 2005 Class of Diakonal Ministers. These seven leaders have completed a one year course of study offered through the ecumenically-sponsored Faith- Based Leadership Institute. They join more than 100 Diakonal Ministers who have been consecrated since the program's inception in 1998. To learn more about the Diakonal Minister credential and CHHSM's faith-based leadership training programs, visit the program's web pages. CHHSM will begin accepting applications for the next class of Diakonal Ministers this summer; look for details in the May email newsletter.
  • The leaders from all walks of life who were recognized at the Awards Banquet. Read all about them here.
  • CHHSM's new 2005 Annual Report, available for download here. If you would like a printed copy, please email Lorraine Cogan

These highlights provide an update on the many ways that CHHSM provides value for its members at the Annual Meeting and throughout the year. However, you probably know that the most valuable time at our annual meeting is spent greeting old friends and meeting new colleagues. We've mounted a photo show of the worship and celebration in Albuquerque; you'll find it on the web site just under a reminder to mark your calendar for the 2007 Annual Meeting, March 1-4 in Louisville, Kentucky. Between now and then, we look forward to another year of service together in Christ's name.
